Osmotherley by the Drove Road


8 Miles (13km) with about 4 hours walking, we will meet up in Osmotherley village square at 10am for a 10.30 start.


This is a pleasant walk following woodland paths, moorland tracks and a little bit of road. We leave the village and head off on the Cleveland Way towards South Wood and follow the Cleveland Way across Scarth Wood Moor, after a small road section we join the Hambleton Drove Road near to Cod Beck Reservoir and head south to Square corner before picking up the Cleveland Way at the other side of Osmotherley and follow this picturesque walk back into the village.


Start: Parking in Osmotherley village.

Distance: 8 miles (13km).

Difficulty: Good paths over farmland, forest trail and open moorlands tracks and bridleways.

Terrain: Open farmland, a forest section and open moors.

Duration: 5-6 hours, including a visit to the Queen Catherine on completion of the walk.

Group: This is a private guided walk and we take bookings for between 4 and 6 people.

Price: £30 per person. We require a minimum of four walkers for this event to go ahead.

What you will need:

In order for you to enjoy and take full advantage of the events on offer it is imperative that you look after yourself and turn up with the appropriate kit. We highly recommend suitable walking shoes/boots, proper outdoor clothing for the time of year and a reasonable level of walking fitness. Unfortunately young people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
